Piping BIM Engineer
Phoenix, AZ | Direct-Hire | $90,000–$130,000

Konik is partnering with a leading water solutions and process technology provider to add a Piping BIM Engineer to their team. This role focuses on 3D piping design and BIM coordination for microelectronics and semiconductor projects, supporting construction teams and ensuring that designs align with P&ID requirements, standards, and fabrication best practices. This is a contract assignment with immediate start, reporting to the engineering leadership team.

Piping BIM Engineer Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D piping models based on P&ID and project specifications, including supports, scaffolding, and associated systems.
  • Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts in collaboration with design, engineering, and production teams.
  • Maintain and update model data, including attributes, specifications, and catalog information.
  • Prepare material take-offs, bills of materials (BOM), and quantity reports from 3D models.
  • Ensure compliance with BIM standards, modeling guidelines, and project specifications.
  • Generate 2D documentation and drawings from 3D models for fabrication and installation purposes.
  • Support project coordination on-site as needed to validate design intent and resolve field issues.

Piping BIM Engineer Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in piping design or BIM modeling for construction projects.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Plant 3D, Navisworks Manage/Simulate, and related BIM tools.
  • Knowledge of piping systems, supports, equipment, and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Experience in the construction or industrial process industry.
  • Familiarity with process equipment such as rotators, heat exchangers, tower tanks, and welded piping assemblies.
  • Experience in progress tracking and visualization using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Basic understanding of Japanese technical terminology is a plus.
