Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer with 1-3 years of experience in mechanical design. The ideal candidate will have working familiarity with SolidWorks and a foundational understanding of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal, plastic injection molding, extrusion, and 3D printing. This is a support-oriented role requiring clear communication, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. The Mechanical Engineer will assist in the design and production of both new and existing products under the guidance of senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize SolidWorks to assist in the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Produce detailed assembly drawings, formal drawing documentation, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Support the management and maintenance of design data using PDM/3DEXPERIENCE platforms, following established processes.
  • Apply developing knowledge of sheet metal, plastic injection, extrusion, and 3D printing design guidelines to support manufacturability.
  • Assist with hands-on prototyping efforts, working closely with internal teams to build and test designs.
  • Coordinate and interface with internal teams and external vendors to support the delivery of project milestones.
  • Support multiple design projects under senior engineer guidance, maintaining quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Assist with production activities for both new and existing products, contributing to troubleshooting and technical input as needed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in mechanical design (internship or co-op experience considered).
  • Working familiarity with SolidWorks; exposure to PDM/3DEXPERIENCE or similar data management systems a plus.
  • Foundational understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, plastic injection molding, extrusion, and 3D printing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce formal documentation and technical drawings.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to ask questions and collaborate across engineering and product teams.
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines with support in a fast-paced environment.
  • Some exposure to prototyping, product testing, or production support.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
