The Team:

The Prototyping Workshop supports the various departments of Mattel Building Sets in product development activities, as well as in the creation of mock-ups and models used to promote different toy lines.

Job Description

The Opportunity: 

The Model Maker 3D Printing Specialist  plays a key role within the Product Development team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the 3D printing department, which is at the heart of prototyping, concept validation, and new product development activities.

Using files provided by the Design and Engineering teams, the incumbent is responsible for preparing, printing, post-processing, and performing quality inspections on printed parts. The Technician also contributes to the optimal performance of the equipment by carrying out preventive maintenance and assisting with technical troubleshooting.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Proficiency with 3D printing technologies and print preparation software such as Grabcad et Preform.
  • Ability to read, modify, and optimize 3D design files, particularly in SolidWorks.
  • Experience with the setup, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of 3D printers.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure the quality of printed parts.
  • Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interest in new technologies and innovation.
  • Excellent prioritization, organizational, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Design, Engineering, and Production.
  • Knowledge of 3D printing materials and post-processing techniques.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and print preparation software.
  • Bilingualism in French and English.
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
