Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Additive Manufacturing Technician to support the daily operations of our 3D Print Lab. This role is responsible for the end-to-end production of PA12 parts using HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) technology.

The ideal candidate has experience in a production or manufacturing environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow detailed procedures to ensure consistent part quality, machine uptime, and efficient post-processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • MJF Production Workflow: Prepare build nests, load/unload HP Build Units, and manage the cooling and unpacking process at the Processing Station.
  • Post-Processing & Assembly: Execute bead blasting, part cleaning, and basic manual assembly. Ensure all parts are free of residual powder.
  • Quality Verification: Perform rapid quality checks on all production parts using the provided go/no-go gauges to ensure dimensional compliance. Escalate any “no-go” trends to management.
  • Machine Maintenance & Housekeeping: Lead the daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance of the HP MJF printer and processing station. Maintain a clean, organized 5S lab environment to manage PA12 powder dust.
  • Powder Management: Manage the recycling and mixing of PA12 powder, including virgin/recycled ratios, to ensure part integrity and cost-efficiency.
  • Packaging: Securely package finished parts for shipment, ensuring all production counts are accurate.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in an industrial, production, or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience operating or maintaining manufacturing equipment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and SOPs for quality, safety, and production consistency
  • Comfortable working in environments involving powder/dust containment procedures
  • Physical ability to handle powder buckets and move build units up to 50 lbs
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and maintain an organized work area
  • Experience using hand tools
  • Computer literate; comfortable using machine control software and Microsoft Office

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Additive manufacturing or 3D printing technologies and processes
  • HP Multi Jet Fusion, FDM, SLA, DLP, or similar 3D printing systems
  • Machine operation or assembly equipment
  • Manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Reading and interpreting digital design files and technical specifications
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues, print failures, or production inconsistencies

Work Environment

This position is based in a hands-on production lab environment. The role involves working with industrial 3D printing equipment, PA12 powder, post-processing tools, and finished production parts. A clean, organized, and safety-focused work area is essential.
