Performs Interventional Radiologic Procedures according to department policies, procedures, and protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers and is successful in the accomplishment of their imaging needs. Scrubs, monitors, circulates, and records Interventional procedures in a variety of locations with radiologists, cardiologists, or vascular surgeons. Participates in PI/ QC activities as assigned. Promotes teamwork and good customer service. Maintains supplies and equipment for Radiology department. Responsible for processing, post processing, scanning, and transmission of Images to PACS. The technologist is responsible for obtaining all equipment needed for a procedure, positioning and imaging patients, resolving equipment issues, and demonstrating knowledge of human anatomy, radiation safety, interventional supplies and equipment operation. Interventional technologists must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), hold a valid license in the state of Rhode Island, and have current BLS certification.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. State Radiology Licensure is required.

2. ARRT is required.

3. Must be familiar with State and Federal regulations.

4. Current BCLS (AHA).

5. Minimum of 6 months current Interventional Radiology experience.

6. Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program accredited by JRCERT.

7. Must be able to be “on call” after hours and within 30 minute response time.
