Position: Manual Machinist
Location: Sanford, FL (On-site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (core hours)

Omega Medical Imaging designs and manufactures advanced image-guided interventional systems used in hospitals and medical facilities worldwide. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality, high-reliability medical technology that supports Advanced Endoscopy and Interventional Cardiology.
We are seeking a Manual Machinist to support the machining of precision mechanical components used in our medical imaging systems. This role also contributes to mechanical assembly and ensures all parts meet strict quality and tolerance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and maintain manual machining equipment, including mills, lathes, drill presses, and other shop machinery.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to determine machining processes and requirements.
  • Manufacture precision components to specified dimensions and tolerances using appropriate machining techniques.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators, to verify part accuracy and quality.
  • Inspect finished parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and tolerances, making adjustments as needed.
  • Assist with the mechanical assembly of components, subassemblies, and finished products.
  • Troubleshoot machining and production issues, collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Paint, and Stockroom teams to improve processes and productivity.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, maintain maintenance and safety records, and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Provide regular status updates on work in progress to supervisors and communicate any production concerns or delays.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment while working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and industrial chemicals.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 3+ years of experience as a manual machinist
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Proficiency using hand tools
  • Understanding of machining principles and techniques
  • Basic math skills for measurement and calculations
  • Familiarity with FDA GMP/QSR and ISO 13485 standards
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift and move components and materials as required (typically up to 50 lbs.)

Work Environment
This position is primarily based in a production environment that may include noise, equipment, and occasional chemical involvement. Work is performed in an air-conditioned facility with required safety and regulatory compliance.
