The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a 3D and Advanced Imaging Technologist for CT!

Shift: Sun/Wed/Thurs 7am-7:30pm

Call Required- once every 6 weeks and once over 6 weekends.

2-3 holidays required per year

The 3D technologist is responsible for operating all 3D imaging workstations and applications. Facilitate transfer of imaging data and manipulation diagnostic images for the radiologist and clinical staff. Assists in the instruction of radiologist and technologists in 3D lab applications. Ensures the networked transfer of images to appropriate workstations and PACS systems along with placing measurements and additional information into a draft report for the radiologist. Works alongside radiologist to enhance patient care to ensure proper diagnostic 3D imaging is performed and documented. The 3D technologist works with IT to assure that the workflow and protocols are uniform and assist the radiologist with IT workflow related issues. They will be responsible for holiday and on-call coverage.

Prepares diagnostic images for visualization and quantification and assists with quantitative measurements when indicated. Operates 3D imaging workstations and software operations for the preparation of imaging data. Selects, extracts, reformats, and de-identifies images as needed. Ensures the networked transfer of images to appropriate workstations and PACS systems. Works under the supervision of the radiologist to create draft reports with all 3D imaging and or measurements. Collaborates with radiologic technologists in CT and MRI to ensure the appropriateness of scanning protocols for 3D imaging. Learns additional computer systems i.e., Syngovia, TeraRecon, Suiteheart, Nordic Ice, Dynacad and Sectra PACS to manipulate digital medical images for clinical visualization and analysis. Collaborates with radiologists to ensure the post-processed images have maximal clinical value. Contributes to the design of new data acquisition protocols for 3D purpose when appropriate. Is responsible for identifying abnormal anatomy and pathology and creating appropriate 3D visualization. Place post processing orders for radiologist when needed. Knowledgeable of advanced neuro and cardiovascular protocols and anatomy. Collaborate with radiologists and committees to continue to develop and change 3D protocols as the scanning protocols change and application technology advances. Fielding all related phone calls and inquiries. Coordinates research 3D post processing when needed. May rotate to clinical floor when applicable. Works with different workstations depending on assignment.

Credentials:

  • Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required)
  • AHA CPR within 6 months of hire

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of an approved two-year school of Radiologic Technology with certification by ARRT.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy & Must be MRI or CT board certified with ARRT with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
