Job description

Job Mission: Operate and maintain R&D manufacturing equipment to provide quick service to meet project deadlines.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes R&D manufacturing equipment (CNC mill, 3D printers, etc.) to provide fixtures, prototype components, and other services R&D may need to keep projects progressing.
  • Assist with prototype builds and testing.
  • CAD proficiency to generate and modify models. Use CAD database to store and organize models.
  • Preform repairs and preventive maintenance on R&D equipment such as 3D printers, CNC mill, and lab equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace to uphold 5S best practices and to support lab safety.
  • Attends project meetings to provide prototype status updates as needed.
  • Tracks, records, and electronically files time spent by project.
  • Supports LPAs at production line or in laboratory.
  • Uses intuition and mechanical aptitude to complement work tasks.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to multi-task.
  • Proactive: Anticipates issues, communicates with the R&D team, and plans for contingencies.
  • Displays effective time management skills, adhering to deadlines and communicating potential roadblocks in advance.
  • Wears personal protective equipment on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work overtime, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least one-year related manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with CNC machining.
  • Experience with polymer 3D printing.
  • Experience with (or ability to learn to use) general hand tools and general measuring equipment.
  • CAD proficiency and drawing reading skills or ability to learn.
  • Basic knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Database software, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills, professional appearance, and good time management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and handle multiple projects and assignments with proficiency.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Either holds a valid passport or able to apply for one.
