Job description

Pinnacle Solutions is looking for a passionate and motivated Intermediate 3D Artist to join our virtual development team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have a can-do attitude, and be willing to take ownership and help grow the capabilities of our growing engineering team. This position will provide an opportunity to apply academic and professional experience to the creation of serious games. Must be able to work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced production environment with other artists and software designers and developers. Models will be used in Unity 3D and Unreal game engines for virtual training applications. Candidate must have the ability to take guidance and direction from project leadership, technical leads and Subject Matter Experts and be able to adapt to changes in direction or switch projects rather quickly. The artist will primarily be responsible for modeling and texturing photo realistic, low poly mechanical/environmental assets using photographs, schematics, sketches, and input from Subject Matter Experts.
Responsibilities
  • Create accurate, photo-realistic low-poly 3D models & textures based on provided source materials (photos, technical drawings, etc.)
  • Implement art assets into Unity or Unreal.
  • Collaborate with other artists to develop and maintain a strong 3D, photo-realistic pipeline.
  • Use your knowledge of materials, lighting, composition, and color theory to produce visually accurate assets.
  • Work collaboratively with a cross-disciplinary team of art, programming, and production to produce applications for training purposes.
  • Create high-quality platforms (aircraft, vehicles, environments, etc.) that meet and exceed our visual standards.
  • Set-up scenes in Unity or Unreal, dictated by the storyboard, and render high-quality sequences based on the level of interactivity.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Digital Art, Game Art, Animation, or related technical discipline. Coursework should include classes in traditional drawing and painting, as well as the use of 3D tools like Maya, 3D Studio Max and Blender.
  • 4+ years of on-the-job experience.
  • Experience building 3D models, UV unwrapping, and packing UV's using Autodesk Maya.
  • Experience texturing 3D models in a realistic PBR style using Adobe Substance Painter.
  • Experience working in Unity 3D, Unreal or other game engines.
  • Must have experience using Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator.
  • Must present portfolio of past game-related or real-time modeling experience.
