Job description

What We're Looking For:
Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Associate to support engineering projects related to hydrologic and hydraulic (H/H) modeling and stormwater design, document development and design, and performs other related tasks. Works on small projects with some complex features or portions of larger projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepares H/H models and cost estimates for assigned projects.
  • Leads tasks that support the overall design for flood mitigation and stormwater improvement projects.
  • Analyzes & interprets data.
  • Analyzes, writes, and may review specifications, reports, drawings, from a variety of sources to produce various deliverables for projects.
  • Assists in client communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
  • Assists in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, permits, and designs for project.
  • May assist in client contact and communication and attends client meetings.
  • Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, and tests, to plan and design projects.
  • Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Accompany Engineers to site visits as needed.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Education & Experience Qualifications:
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited program. Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
  • Engineer Intern / Engineer in Training Certification required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad/Civil 3d, Microstation/Geopak, GIS, and other essential software and equipment for field and office work.
