Job description

Spartan Staffing Solutions has partnered with a leader in Material Handling Equipment rental and sales company. Together we are in search of a Dock and Door Technician for their team in Vancouver BC
You will be responsible for the overall operational integrity and condition of dock doors with the following responsibilities:
  • Receive service call requests from the national call center department
  • Explain problems, solutions consequences, conditions, and cost of repairs to customers
  • Repair dock products at customer’s facility including: doors, seals, bumpers, restraints
  • Test specific areas, parts, and components to ensure safety and optimal operation of equipment
  • Fill out work orders outlining issue, summary of work performed, and actions required
  • Fulfill service duties at customer sites on docks and overhead doors
  •  Meet SLA Agreement standards of service
  •  Successfully service equipment and encourage repeat business through exceptional customer service
  • As a technician, you are the front line contact for customers, so you are comfortable with client contact as well as being technical savvy.
  • High school completion or equivalent education proficiency and/or minimum of 1 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent related experience.
  • Automotive Certification (310S) or Heavy Duty Technician Certification (421A) an asset.
  • Welding required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices, knowledge of the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements.
  • Able to interpret and implement technical procedures.
  • Solid knowledge of general Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
