The Chief Pilot is responsible for the leadership, standardization, regulatory compliance, training coordination, and operational performance of the companyโ€™s pilot group across a mixed fleet of Hawker 800XP and Citation aircraft operating under Part 135 regulations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient flight operations while maintaining high standards of professionalism, training, schedule reliability, customer service, and pilot retention.

The Chief Pilot serves as the primary operational leader and liaison between pilots, safety, training, maintenance, scheduling, and executive leadership, while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, operational excellence, and pilot development.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Flight Crew Management

ยท Provide leadership, oversight, and daily support to all company pilots.

ยท Manage pilot performance, professionalism, accountability, and conduct.

ยท Mentor and develop flight crew members to support operational growth.

Regulatory Compliance & Oversight

ยท Ensure compliance with all FAA, Part 135, company, and operational regulations.

ยท Maintain pilot records, qualifications, and operational documentation.

ยท Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews as required.

Pilot Standardization & Operational Excellence

ยท Maintain standardized operating procedures across the pilot group.

ยท Promote consistency, professionalism, and high operational standards.

ยท Monitor operational performance and implement process improvements.

Training Oversight

ยท Coordinate initial, recurrent, and upgrade pilot training.

ยท Ensure pilots maintain required certifications, qualifications, and proficiency.

ยท Work with training providers to support scheduling and compliance needs.

Scheduling & Staffing Coordination

ยท Partner with scheduling to maintain adequate pilot coverage and operational reliability.

ยท Assist with staffing forecasts, pilot utilization, and schedule support.

ยท Support operational continuity during irregular operations or staffing shortages.

Safety Management

ยท Promote a strong safety culture throughout flight operations.

ยท Support safety reporting, risk management, and corrective action processes.

Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

ยท Must meet 14 CFR Part 119.69 requirements to serve as Chief Pilot

ยท 8,000 hours total flight time

ยท 3,500 hours PIC

ยท First Class Medical Certificate

ยท Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certification

ยท Strong working knowledge of Part 135 regulations

ยท Experience with mixed-fleet standardization preferred

ยท 3 years supervisory or management experience in Part 135 operations

ยท No accidents, incidents, violations, or DUI/DWI

ยท Type ratings in HS-125 and CE-500 preferred

ยท Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills

ยท Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently in English

ยท Team player with a mission-minded mentality

ยท Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

ยท Must live within one hour of Stuart, FL or be willing to relocate
