Job description

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Equipment Mechanic with automotive experience to join our team in remote Alaska on a rotational schedule. This is a long-term, stable opportunity supporting a well-established operation. You’ll primarily work in a shop, with occasional field service work when needed.

Schedule:

  • 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation
  • 80.5 hours per week while on rotation
  • Opportunity to work additional when available

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain construction equipment and automotive vehicles.
  • Perform general and major work on standard construction equipment, light/heavy-duty trucks, and diesel systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and drivetrain systems.
  • Repair and overhaul brakes, transmissions, differentials, and axle assemblies.
  • Install and service hydraulic components and controls.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure safe operation.
  • Perform different phases of tire work.
  • Prepare shop work orders on equipment repair, and order parts as needed to maintain stock.
  • Conduct emergency repairs and services in the field as needed.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience as a mechanic working on construction equipment and vehicles.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting and repairing Construction equipment.
  • Must have experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Experience working on Ford & Dodge diesel/gas trucks (2011–present).
  • Knowledge of air brake systems and diesel engine repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and diagrams.
  • Experience with generator service/repair is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 3 years (no DUIs).
  • Ability to work in a remote environment on a rotational schedule.
