Job description

CraftMark Bakery is an innovative and highly automated commercial bakery that is looking for TOP TALENT to join a growing company! Our state-of-the-art bakery has a temperature controlled environment, a GREAT culture and we set a new standard for quality and food safety, while providing real value and to our customers.

This position pays $19.00 an hour (Days). Working a 12-hour shift.

2-2-3 rotation schedule from 6:00 am-6:00 pm


Overview:

This position is directly responsible for performing basic and advanced sanitation of the facility, to maintain housekeeping and a food safe environment.
Responsibilities: Essential Functions

  • Perform detailed sanitation, housekeeping and cleaning of the entire facility.
  • Must be flexible to work schedules that are variable for days of the week and hours per day, not to exceed 12 hours per day.
  • Mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, hand cleaning and hose work.
  • Handle/use cleaning and sanitizing solutions at pre-set concentrations.
  • Utilize chemicals according to specific applications, such as foaming.
  • Perform all tasks associated with cleaning of rooms according to the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Hand cleaning of equipment surfaces.
  • Operate floor scrubbers and other sanitation equipment
  • Operate scissor lifts or hoists, following height safety requirements and appropriate PPE.
  • Be able to follow equipment specific SSOP’s safely.
  • Understand how to protect equipment from water or other damage during cleaning.
  • Understand drain cleaning and use proper methods to ensure drains are clean and sanitary.
  • Be able to clean equipment Parts in an efficient, safe and appropriate cleaning method.
  • Follow the 7 Step cleaning program.
  • Follow GMP’s and GSP’s (Good Sanitation Practices), in accordance to industry and SQF standards.
  • Be able to self-inspect your work areas according to pre-op expectations of clean.
  • Specific sanitation tasks as assigned by a Sanitation Lead or Coordinator.
  • Ethical conduct/confidentiality
  • Have basic math skills
  • Understand GMP/HACCP awareness for food safety

Work environment

  • This position operates in office areas, common areas and in the manufacturing operation.
  • The role routinely uses standard sanitation equipment such as mops, brooms, hoses, squeegees, etc. and cleaning chemicals.
  • All required PPE for plant operational safety is expected to be used.
  • Work may be at heights or in confined areas.
  • Lock Out Tag Out functions
  • Position requires ability to communicate and work well with peers.
  • Down day sanitation will be in/around equipment, with slippery floors and dusty equipment.
  • Work may also put sanitor in contact with food allergens.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma, GED
  • Preferred:
  • HACCP training
  • Sanitation training
  • Chemical Safety Training
  • Experience in a 24 hour manufacturing facility in sanitation or food safety
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a food facility or other sanitation program.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.

Physical Demands

  • Randomly required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Periodically required to stand and walk and reach with hand and arms.
  • Working under and around processing equipment, potentially in close quarters.
  • Working in a wet environment.
