Job description

2nd Shift Machine/Cleaning Operator (CNC Experience Ideal)

Watertown, CT

Monday–Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM (Overtime as needed)

$18–$20/hr DOE

The Hire Source is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine/Cleaning Operator for a 2nd shift opportunity with a well-established manufacturer in the Watertown area. Ideally this role is suited for someone with CNC or machining experience, though strong manufacturing experience will also be considered. This position is critical to supporting daily production, monitoring machines, and maintaining clean, high-functioning equipment and workspaces.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor machines to ensure they are running within specifications and producing good finished product
  • Measure product using micrometers, plug gauges, ring gauges, and other inspection tools
  • Communicate effectively with Toolmakers, Inspectors, and other departments
  • Monitor and maintain oil levels and lubrication on machines
  • Visually inspect parts against prints and dimensional standards to minimize scrap
  • Keep work areas clean, including sweeping and mopping shop floors
  • Sort and clean parts according to documented procedures and daily priority lists
  • Maintain cleaning equipment per maintenance schedules
  • Perform accurate part counts and enter data into company system
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning room supplies and issue purchase requisitions when needed
  • Clean and maintain containers and scrap processing areas
  • Follow proper product identification procedures to prevent mix-ups


Qualifications

  • Ability to lift and carry totes up to 15 lbs. regularly
  • Strong fine motor skills and finger dexterity
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with measuring devices (micrometers, plug gauges, etc.)
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Eyelet industry machines and gauges
  • Ideal: CNC machining or machine operator experience
  • Must be able to train on days 2–3 weeks, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
