NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is looking for a Machine Operator 1 to join our team in Winsted, MN. This Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, loading, and unloading various machines/ equipment to manufacture metal products in accordance with product specifications. 

We are currently hiring a variety of Machine Operators:

  • 1st shift - T&I Pre-Assembly Stacker Crane Operator
  • 1st shift - T&I Pre-Assembly Blaster Operator
  • 1st shift - T&I Pre-Assembly High Rise Assembler
  • 2nd shift - Circular Products Fab Expander/Flattener
  • 2nd shift - Circular Products Fab Flash Welder
  • 2nd shift - T&I Bay 2 Press Operator
  • 2nd shift - T&I Torch Table Operator

Job Title: Machine Operator 1
Location: onsite in Winsted, MN
Salary Range: $21.44 – 25.03 per hour (Non-Exempt)
(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)
Shift Schedule: 1st shift: Monday - Thursday 5am - 3pm; 2nd shift: Monday – Thursday 3pm - 1am 
Shift Differential: 1st shift: N/A, 2nd shift – $1.50/hour

As a Machine Operator 1, you will:

  • Proficiently operates at least one machine in the assigned area
  • Cross trains on other machines in assigned area
  • Basic understanding of the machines in assigned area
  • Effectively set up machines to start a production cycle
  • Load and feed metal stock and other materials into manual or automatic machines
  • Monitors gauges as required to ensure quality work
  • Verify end parts are consistent with blue print specifications
  • Accurately label all parts for routing to next operation
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required
  • Escalates equipment or quality issues
  • Monitor the production board and internal paperwork to perform tasks in the designated sequence
  • Enter job data in production tracking system
  • Meet and maintain quality standards
  • Maintains area cleanliness and completed 5S checklists
  • Material handles for assigned area as required
  • Ability to work with others as part of a high-performance team
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities
  • Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements

Role Qualifications as a Machine Operator 1: 

  • Effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to set up and safely operate equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to perform basic shop math functions
  • Ability to use forklift, hoist, crane and other handling equipment
  • Ability to operate various power and hand tools
  • Ability to use various measuring devices
  • Ability to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods

Physical Demands (Production Roles): 

This position requires the individual to wear and work in company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires that the individual can lift a minimum of 50lbs. And, if applicable, can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment with the use of an overhead crane and/or forklift. Must be able to work in, on, or around equipment and machinery. The employee may need to perform work with the use of ladders.
