What you will be doing

The Pharmacy Technician at the Central Fulfillment Center is responsible for working in a closed-door, fast-paced pharmacy facility on a production line. They are responsible for filling prescriptions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician will work with prescription filling automation technologies and semi-manual/manual workstations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of orders and maintain a continuous and consistent workflow to help meet team goals.

The position is based in Ridgefiled, WA. The shift arrangement is typically a 40-hour workweek with occasional overtime to be expected. The technicians work on 1st shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM or on 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.

Main responsibilities

  • Follow and promote proper Pharmacy, general safety, and security procedures and processes of the company.

  • Use scanning and counting technologies to identify and select appropriate pharmaceutical products and quantities for filling prescription orders.

  • Ensuring medication counting devices are continuously replenished.

  • Assist with maintaining the pharmacy system and technologiesthat facilitate proper counting, conveyance, packaging, and shipping of prescriptions.

  • Monitoring inventory and supply levels at the responsible stations, calibrating machines, general troubleshooting (jams, blockages) within conveyance, counting, and packaging machines, escalating technical issues, and working as a team to reach team goals.

  • Monitoring and maintaining uptime of automated counting, collating, packaging, and sorting devices, ensuring continuous operation through basic troubleshooting of routine errors.

  • Create and maintain documentation as requested.

  • Manually fill prescriptions as needed.

  • Verify attributes of the product such as: size, strength, quantity, etc. before processing orders. Enter or scan expiration date and lot numbers.

  • Ensure labels on prescriptions are correct.

  • Prepare packages, sort, and manifest prescription orders if needed.

  • Stock and rotate merchandise and supplies to limit shrinkage if needed.

  • Assist Inventory Technicians as requested. Participate in Inventory Audits as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned concurrent with all applicable laws and regulations.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience

  • Required:

    • Pharmacy Technician License in Washington.

    • Ability to preserve confidentiality of patient information.

  • Preferred:

    • A national Pharmacy Technician Certification.

  • Technical Experience:

    • Central Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician experience.

    • Prefers to work in a closed-door environment (no adjudication, customer interaction, phone work.)

    • Good computer skills.

    • Good math skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Willing and able to stand/walk at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Willing and able to perform tasks which include pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, stooping, rotating, reaching, and lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Visual focus such as counting, observing, etc. is required consistently.

  • Performing repetitive tasks up to 100% of the time
