Certified CS/SPD Techniciansare responsible forcleaning andmaintainingsurgical and hospital tools. In this position, you help ensure patients have the best possible healthcare experience by providing caregivers with safe and sterile equipment.Come bepart of a passionate family of caregivers and make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and their families.

A caregiver in this role works evenings from 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly,wrappingand sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.

  • Perform case pull functions.

  • Determineappropriate casecarts to be built for specialty procedures.

  • Build case carts ensuring adherence to procedures.

  • Dispatch case carts to ensure availability for surgical/clinical procedures.

  • Perform record keeping, ordering,stockingand inventory control.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • A Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER)

  • Proficient in using computerized instrument tracking systems

  • Military experience, such as Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR),AircraftMaintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F), or similar, will be considered

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Basic computer skills

  • Completion of a recognized training program with certification in central service/sterile processing

  • Two to five years of experience in central service/sterile processing areas

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting items that weigh 20-30 pounds.

  • Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 200+ pounds.

  • Possible exposure to biological and chemical contamination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $21.50

Maximum hourly: $29.50
