Job description

The Position

This position is a member of the General Manufacturing Department.  The Industrial Painter will report directly to the Mechanical Assembly Supervisor.  The Industrial Painter is primarily responsible for Painting and touch up of machinery and equipment manufactured by Bartell that meet specifications required by customer, while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Job Description         

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare & Paint machinery that meets Bartell standards and customer specifications.
  • Interpret MDS and MSDA sheets to paint machinery that meets or exceeds customer specifications.
  • Provide support in other areas of the company (ie) Warehouse, and assembly when needed.
  • Assist various Bartell departments achieve deadlines by providing manpower during times of backlog.
  • Maintaining paint booth supplies and record keeping.
  • Ensure proper levels of paint and paint supplies are on hand also maintain accurate records required by EHS Manager.
  • Environmental, Occupational, Health, And Safety
  • Ensure all OSHA guidelines are followed with regards to heavy lifting and rigging, and proper use storage, and disposal of all paints, oils and fluids. Maintain work area in safe and orderly manner.
  • Miscellaneous
  • Have a good attitude, start work on time, work overtime when necessary, perform good housekeeping, communicate with others, be aware of his/her area and other’s safety, be a good team member.

Job Requirements    

Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Skills & Relevant Work Experience

  • Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control.
  • Active participation in activities associated with workplace health and safety.
  • Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace.
  • Correct utilization of appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • All standard pre-hire testing and physicals; random testing may be required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):

  • Fluency in English
  • Heavy Lift Certification and Industrial Powered Vehicles License
  • Ability to read and interpret MDS, MSDA sheets, &RAL numbers.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to pass Pulmonary and fit tests annually.
  • Ability to maintain paint booth and painting equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):

  • Working knowledge of all Bartell manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Strong communication and conceptual skills.
  • Knowledge of spray-painting systems.
  • Painting of industrial equipment.

Travel Requirements: Less than 5%

Salary range for this position is between $22 and $25 an hour.
