24/7 Programs – Peer Supervisor  

Full-Time, On-Site  

Non-Exempt (Hourly): $36.15 - $38.53 per hour 

Exempt (Salaried): $80,168.40 - $93,038.40 per year 

Hiring Range: This position has a compensation range that spans the salary threshold for Washington State, which means that this position may be classified as either non-exempt (hourly) or exempt (salaried), depending on the candidate’s qualifications, including education, experience, and other relevant factors.

Job Summary: The 24/7 Programs Peer Supervisor provides clinical, administrative, and CPSS supervision to all Peers via direct clinical and supervisory work, within 24/7 programs (AIU, CTC, MCOT, YMCOT, PHRC and Keller).

General Summary of Duties:

• Assist in hiring, training, coaching, developing, and evaluating qualified staff.  Update job descriptions as necessary and monitor required program trainings and State certification.
• Maintain supervision logs to ensure CPSS Trainees meet State requirements outlined in RCW 18.420 and WAC 246-929.
• Oversee training, supervision, and continued professional development of direct reports.
• Consult with the Director of Residential and SUD Programs, Director of Inpatient Services, and Crisis Services Manager regularly and ongoing regarding all aspects of the Peer program, including clinical and administrative procedures.
• Provide strength-based supervision and coaching to staff to maximize their strengths, enhance their critical thinking skills and effectiveness in their roles, and reduce mental health stigma.
• Provide supportive coaching to Peers to support the crisis response process, as well as other programing.  Serve as an expert facilitator for high-profile or especially complex community members.
• Coach peers to use lived experience, trauma-informed language, and peer-specific skills to ensure quality interactions to support overall well-being and effectiveness to assigned community members.
• Coach individual staff to maintain boundaries within their role while supporting the clinical direction of the team.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date data collection per agency policies and WAC requirements.  Assure EHR documentation meets agency and WAC requirements.
• Actively participate in the agency’s monthly All Peer meeting, and encourage reports to attend, to ensure Peers receive growth opportunities and support.
• Provide education to the department and agency as needed on Peer services and how to recommend and collaborate with Peers to ensure individuals are getting the appropriate level of care. Assist department leaders and support helping clinical staff understand the Peer role.
• Provide on-site clinical support to staff as needed and coordinate staff coverage.
• Work as an integral member of the KMHS supervisory team and represent KMHS positively in the community.  Develop a positive working relationship with other community agencies for purposes of promotion, networking, and educating the public about Peer services in 24/7 Programs. Provide consultation, education, and training as needed to KMHS staff, school personnel, and other agencies or individuals regarding clinical and program issues.
• Attend relevant conferences and professional trainings as requested by the agency.

• Direct Reports: Certified Peer Support Specialists across 24/7 Programs.
• Hiring, coaching, training, and direct supervision of direct reports.
• Collaborate with program director in annual performance review process.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in psychology, Social Services, or other behavioral health field. High school diploma or GED accepted with at least 10 years of experience working in the field of Peer services, recovery support, and/or supervision/program management in social services/peer programming. 

EXPERIENCE: Expert (minimum of 7 years of relevant experience). One (1) year of supervisory experience. This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency. The incumbent must meet all agency driving requirements, including being at least 21 years old, having been licensed for a minimum of three years, successfully completing a motor vehicle history check, possessing and maintaining a current, valid driver’s license in the state of Washington, and having reliable, insured transportation.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.

Completion of the Washington State Health Care Authority training and certified Peer Support Specialist.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Master's degree in psychology, social services, or other behavioral health fields.

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) or more years of experience in a supervisory role.

LICENSURE: Washington License (LICSW, LMFT, or LMHC).

Performance Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE:

• Maintain a working knowledge of mental health rehabilitation standards.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Evidence-Based Practices
• Maintain a working knowledge of peer roles, practices, learning competencies, recovery concepts, and other state or organizational requirements
• Maintain working knowledge on HCA and DOH updates for CPSS licensure.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Operation of a motor vehicle.
