Job description

CREC Academy of Computer Science and Engineering Middle School is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to support the successful implementation of a new theme consisting of Computer Science, Design, Entrepreneurship, and Social Impact. Teachers with any secondary teaching endorsement are eligible to apply, with a preference of teachers with a STEM related certification, Computer Science, or Technology Education 047 certification. Primary course load will require candidate to facilitate the Product Development course, Digital Future course, all with a focus on Digital Citizenship and digital tools.

Essential Performance Responsibilities:

The primary function of a CREC teacher is the planning for and effective delivery of instruction and assessment of student learning, in alignment with the Danielson Framework, with the incorporation of the CREC Core Values:  Expect Excellence, Demand Equity, Act with Courage, Embrace Collaboration.  

In addition, a CREC teacher:
 

Develops and administers curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for computer science, and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
Additional Duties:




Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Qualifications Profile:
 



Certification Area: Any Secondary Education endorsement;
Preferred: Computer Science 7-12 (110), Technology PK-12 (047), or Business 7-12 (010), Any STEM related Certifications
Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Education:
 




Bachelor's from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Master's Degree preferred.
Experience:
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
FLSA Status:   Exempt
