Job description

Forklift Operator

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety protocols while operating the forklift
  • Keep weld cells running by delivering parts and containers to the cells in a timely manner
  • Take finished comps to the proper storage location.
  • Scan in all material that is moved to the proper storage location
  • Ensure all old shipping tags are removed from empty containers before being set up in the well cells.
  • Notify team ladders and/or coordinators when running low on stamping or child parts
  • Make sure damaged containers are not set up in weld cells and take any damaged containers to the rack repair area outside.
  • Keep banks of parts and completed assemblies in neat order
  • Keep the weld cells neat and orderly and remove all stamping from weld cells that are not being used on current production.
  • Work together with other forklift drivers to support production and eliminate downtime on all weld cells.
  • Keep the forklifts charged.
  • Drivers must be able to support production using stand-up forklifts as well as sit-down forklifts.
  • Abide by all safety policies and accident reporting procedures at all times.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Forklift Certification Required
  • Prior knowledge of material handling in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
