Job description

Structural Steel Welder 1st Shift

Pay: $20-26/hr. (based off of weld test results)

Shift: Mon-Fri (6am to 4:30pm) with optional Saturday OT

Description:

A successful candidate should have a welding certification in D1.1 2G/3G with applicable experience, willingness to learn, and ability to interpret fabrication and construction drawings.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in steel fabrication
  • Prior Experience Operating Overhead Cranes
  • Prior welding experience in Flux Core
  • 2G/3G Certification preferred
  • Must pass a weld test that meets AWS standards
  • Must be flexible to work any schedule needed including overtime and Saturdays as needed

Job Duties:

  • Weld structural steel parts as per drawings and marked-up weld symbols.
  • Maintain and obtain required welding certifications, ensuring compliance with AWS standards.
  • Achieve and maintain welder qualifications per AWS standards.
  • Conduct visual inspections of welded components to confirm quality and accuracy.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, air arc tools, grinders, magnetic drills, and other welding-related equipment.
  • Communicate with team members to ensure quality control and completeness of work.
  • Follow all safety procedures and policies, ensuring work is done in a safe and secure manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, including trash and scrap removal and other production-related tasks.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance as needed.
