Summary:
Provide non-medical assistance, which may include personal care and light housekeeping, and errands assistance to clients in need of assistance with ADLs. Tasks performed at the designated location on a designate schedule while the client is present.
Examples of work performed:
  • Personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, ambulation, exercise, oral hygiene, and routine hair/skin care.
  • Provide medication reminders as outlines in service plan.
  • Shopping, meal prep and cooking as requested.
  • Light housekeeping of areas of home used by client.
  • Transport client as requested and with approval from HR (driving record and insurance must be on file).
  • Assist with pet care as requested.
  • Assist with home organization tasks as requested.
  • Complete all training as required for the personal attendant program.
  • Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Utilize the Employment Visit Verification as instructed an in accordance with authorized schedule.
  • Report any changes in client's condition and any request for service not assigned.
  • Report any and all suspected or reported abuse, neglect, or exploitation immediately to supervisor and/or administrator.

Experience and Education:
  • Must be 18 years or older of age
  • Or a high school graduate who is enrolled in vocational educational program..
  • Must demonstrate competency of assigned task in person to supervisor or through education or experience -TAC 558.404
  • Minimum of 6 months experience preferred.
  • Dependable transportation required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Professional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to provide quality customer service.
  • Able to perform all authorized tasks.
  • Ability to complete accurate paperwork as needed.
  • Must be dependable.
