Position: Executive Chef
Location: San Francisco International Airport (SFO), United Polaris Lounge
Salary Range: $110,000 – $120,000 per year
Benefits: 2 weeks PTO, 10–14 holidays (rotating), health/dental/vision after 30 days
 
Job Summary: 
  • Lead all culinary operations for United Airlines’ exclusive Polaris Lounge serving international business and first‑class travelers. Responsible for menu creation, team leadership, cost control, and delivering fine dining experiences in both buffet and à la carte formats.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily culinary operations and safety/sanitation compliance
  • Manage cost controls, purchasing, and inventory
  • Design seasonal, culturally relevant menus (buffet + à la carte)
  • Lead and mentor a large team (3 sous chefs, 1 junior sous, 7 cooks, 6 prep cooks, 2 porters, 6 dishwashers)
  • Execute creative activations/pop‑ups and tasting menus
  • Drive financial performance while maintaining culinary excellence
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • 3–5 years of culinary management experience
  • High‑volume production and catering background
  • Fine dining/Michelin‑level plating and presentation skills
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage cost controls
