Job description

We are seeking passionate, qualified, and knowledgeable employees to join our Fishing Department at our Missoula store. As a member of the Bob Ward's team, you'll help create a welcoming, professional shopping experience for every customer while sharing your passion for fishing and the outdoors.
You'll work closely with customers to share your expertise in fly fishing, baitcasting, spinning setups, ice fishing, trolling, and jigging, helping them find the right rods, reels, tackle, and accessories for their individual fishing styles and local waters.
The ideal candidate has hands-on fishing experience and strong product knowledge across multiple fishing techniques and gear categories. Responsibilities include assisting customers with product selection, explaining equipment features, helping anglers match rods, reels, and line setups, and maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked department.
Team members will work with many of the top brands in the fishing industry, including Lamson, Okuma, Orvis, Pflueger, Redington, Sage, Shakespeare, Shimano, St. Croix, Temple Fork Outfitters, and Ugly Stik, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a positive, friendly, and knowledgeable customer experience in the Fishing Department.
  • Share your fishing expertise and product knowledge to help customers select the right gear.
  • Answer customer questions, resolve issues, and provide accurate pricing and sales information.
  • Familiarize yourself with merchandise to deliver quick and accurate product recommendations.
  • Process, locate, stock, organize, and maintain fishing merchandise.
