Description** Minimum salary listed, salary offer will be contingent upon related work experience **.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Provides therapeutic/intervention services and treats persons with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. May select alternative communication systems and teach their use. May perform research related to speech and language problems. Conducts speech screenings and assessments individually and as part of a full team of evaluators.
Qualifications: KSA's, EducationKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Certification Required; Must hold a current Board of Audiology and Speech/Language Pathology license (School, Provisional, or Full license)
Education and Experience Education Required: Must meet option one or two as outlined for speech pathologists and hold a current school-based
license or full license under the Virginia Licensure Regulations For School Personnel. Master's Degree required.
Experience Required: Must have a record of successful full-time speech/language therapy experience or have demonstrated
a successful internship. The position requires expertise in the diagnosis and remediation of communication disorders,
expertise in the provision of therapy for students with a wide range of disabilities, and the ability to work with computers, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology. Extensive skill, knowledge, and experience are needed.
A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Physical requirements and DisclaimerPhysical Conditions:Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Attendance to meetings outside the normal duty hours is often required. Minimal ability for a wide range of motion to include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating. May involve repetitive motions and long periods of sitting at a desk or computer.
