Laboratory Client Service Representative

Bilingual Spanish/English  |  Full-Time  |  Union, NJ 07083

  Location:  Union, NJ 07083 (In-Person)

  Pay:  $20.00 – $22.00 per hour

  Shift:  Day Shift | Full-Time

About the Role

A growing diagnostic laboratory in Union, NJ is seeking a full-time Bilingual (Spanish/English) Laboratory Client Service Representative to serve as a critical link between our clinical team, referring providers, and patients. This is a detail-oriented, fast-paced role where accuracy, communication, and professionalism make a direct impact on patient care.

What You'll Do

•       Review and process order entry, requisitions, and specimen verification for accuracy

•       Enter and maintain required patient and test data in laboratory information systems (LIS)

•       Prepare specimens for send-out testing to reference laboratories per SOPs

•       Review pending tests and follow up to ensure timely result reporting

•       Prepare and distribute reports, invoices, and correspondence for mail-out to patients and providers

•       Answer inbound calls from physicians, clinical staff, and patients in both English and Spanish

•       Serve as a bilingual point of contact — accurately communicate test results, status updates, and instructions

•       Collaborate with laboratory and administrative teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure workflow continuity

•       Adhere to all laboratory standard operating procedures, HIPAA regulations, and quality standards

What We're Looking For

Required

•       Fluent in both Spanish and English — written and spoken (non-negotiable)

•       Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or related healthcare environment

•       Familiarity with clinical laboratory terminology, test panels, and specimen types

•       Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

•       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — comfortable with patients and clinical staff

•       Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

•       Proficiency with computer systems; experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) a plus

Preferred

•       Associate's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field

•       Experience in hematology, diagnostics, or reference laboratory settings

•       Knowledge of medical billing and invoice preparation

•       Prior client services or customer-facing experience in a healthcare setting
