Job description

Nursing – Oncology

Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:30 - 16:00) Self-schedule requests allowed.

Contract Length: 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: Not specified

License: Valid nursing license

Certifications: BLS

Experience: 2 years preferred EMR: Experience with EPIC

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform blood draws, IV placements, and administer injections/immunizations.
  • Manage patient care for oncology diagnoses, including hematology malignancies and post-transplant patients.
  • Monitor and manage oncologic emergencies, including tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome.
  • Maintain infection prevention protocols and ensure patient safety.

Compliance / Notes:

  • Orientation consists of one week of daytime training followed by on-unit orientation.
  • Flu vaccine is required, with medical exemptions accepted only.
  • Candidates must complete necessary fingerprinting as part of the credentialing process.
