Job description

Class Concept The City of Dublin is seeking compassionate and energetic attendants to monitor the guests and activities in The Hub at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC). Under the direction of the Recreation Operations Coordinator, the successful candidate will assist in the planning, organizing and implementation of all functions of The Hub, as well as coordinating and supervising use of the Respawn Lounge for gaming/esports. The Hub offers a supervised space for youth ages 13-18 to spend time enjoying amenities such as console game systems (Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch), table tennis and a multimedia television wall.

Connected to The Hub is the Respawn Lounge, a top-tier gaming center stocked with high-end gaming computers. Availability/Scheduling We are currently seeking applicants available to fill the following shifts: Sundays, 12:45-8:15pm Tuesdays, 2:45-9:15pm A flexible availability is preferred with the ability to work both weekdays and weekends There will be opportunities to pick up additional substitute shifts/hours as they become available Beyond the Paycheck Refer a Friend Bonus Program ($100 per successful employee referral) Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS) enrollment and contributions Potential Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility Support through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 20% discount on classes and free textbooks at Franklin University DUBLIN R3 offering incentives such as individual membership to the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC) and employee recognition/appreciation events Discounts on memberships at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC) The City maintains the cost of team member certifications and training time is paid($40.00-$100.00 value). Discounted/free employee participation in select City events (Memorial Golf Tournament, Dublin Irish Festival, etc.) Uniforms provided Career mapping and growth opportunities Examples of Duties Examples of duties include, but are not limited to: Conducting a variety of recreational activities for teens such as console gaming, table tennis, PC gaming and special events Staffing the desk at The Hub at the DCRC This includes checking patrons in, issuing esports gaming packages, assisting with esports computers and monitoring room usage Ensuring a safe, healthy and supervised environment for all activities Providing strong leadership and a positive role model Maintaining equipment and supply inventory in the space and reporting any known issues to the supervisor Typical Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Must be 16 years of age or older Must be regularly available to work Sundays and/or Tuesdays General knowledge of recreation principles Possession of an American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire Preferred Qualifications Comfortable using computers and knowledgeable about video games/esports/game consoles Possession of a High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent certificate Some college education in Recreation Administration, Adaptive Recreation, Special Education, Physical Education, Art, Music, Dance, Drama, or work experience in any related fields Physical Requirements Ability to lift objects weighing 25lbs.
