Travel Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Columbus, Ohio (43210)

Registered Nurse Job Requirements
  • Active RN license in hand at the time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of total acute care nursing experience
  • At least 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
  • Current acute care experience within the last 12 months required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Experience with telemetry, progressive care, and mixed-acuity patient care preferred
  • Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
  • Ability to work variable weekends and float within scope of practice
Registered Nurse Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, high-quality care to adult and geriatric PCU patients with surgical oncology diagnoses
  • Monitor and manage patients receiving chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips
  • Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies, including cytokine release syndrome
  • Deliver chest tube care and other progressive care interventions as needed
  • Maintain strong infection prevention practices and help reduce patient falls
  • Document accurately in Epic and collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
  • Adapt to changing unit needs and provide care within scope across related acute care oncology areas
