Pay Range: $32-$42 Per Hour
Job Overview:
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, your primary responsibility will be to safely operate and maintain various types of equipment used for installing main line utility systems, such as Backhoes, Excavators, Skid Steers, Rollers, Tractors, Dozers, and more.
Additional duties include:
- Working with Foreman amp; Superintendent to safely amp; effectively plan projects
- Inspecting and preparing sites for earthmoving and excavation operations
- Reading amp; understanding construction plans, blueprints and other project details
- Attending morning huddles to ensure everyone understands their role for the day
- Coordinating with labor crews to ensure roads and walkways are safely blocked off
- Digging, trenching, grading, and backfilling earth according to project plans
- Assisting with the safe installation of trench boxes, piping systems, and fittings
- Ensuring loads are properly secured when transporting to, from amp; around the site
- Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on heavy equipment
- Logging equipment hours and tracking maintenance and repair schedules
- Helping Foreman to ensure general labor crews remain engaged and on task
- Assisting with general labor duties as needed or directed by Foreman
Requirements:
- Operator I: 1-2 years of previous heavy equipment operation
- Operator II: 2-4 years of previous heavy equipment operation
- Operator III: 4-6 years of previous heavy equipment operation
- Prior experience in excavation, preferably main line utility systems
- Valid Driver License or State ID
- 10-Hour OSHA Certification (will train)
- CPR amp; First Aid Certification (will train)
