Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU Nights position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details
  • >ting within a Phase I PACU inpatient setting
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00-7:30, 36 hours per week
  • Potential for weekend shifts, including weekend and holiday coverage
  • No on-call responsibilities at this time
  • Cares for surgical patients across a wide range of specialties including bariatrics, cardiac, ENT, general, GYN, neuro, ophthalmology, ortho, and vascular
  • Manages various types of anesthesia including general, local, MAC, nerve blocks, spinal, post-epidural, and conscious sedation
  • Performs cardiac and neurological monitoring, including dysrhythmia recognition, EVD, and ICP monitoring
  • Administers IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
  • Utilizes PCA pump management and RASS for pain and sedation assessment
  • Charting system experience required (any EMR)
Requirements
  • Active OH or compact RN license required at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care/management required
  • Experience with care of ventilated/respiratory patients required
  • Knowledge of Malignant Hyperthermia Protocol required
  • 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

  • RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
  • Current employees are ineligible for a travel assignment at this facility
  • Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon signing contract; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location, while those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
