Gutridge is a leading Mechanical Contractor offering Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Protection, and Electrical services to customers in the greater central Ohio marketplace. As a Refrigeration Installation Commissioning Technician, you will be responsible for installations, commissions, and testing commercial/residential cooling systems, including walk-in freezers, coolers, mini splits, startup equipment, line sets, and HVAC units. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, laying out equipment, brazing pipes, wiring electrical components, testing for leaks, and ensuring safety compliance. These individuals must troubleshoot startup issues, maintain tools, and keep accurate documentation.


What Will You Be Earning?

  • Pay: Up to $55.00 per hour.
  • Compensation is determined by our hiring managers and is based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, and the specific demands of the role.

What Are We Looking For?

  • Installation & Setup: Installing new refrigeration units, components, and systems according to specifications.
  • System Connections: Connecting pipes, electrical wiring, water supplies, and controls.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Testing systems for leaks, verifying proper orientation, and charging refrigerant while following safety regulations.
  • Planning & Preparation: Reading, interpreting blueprints and technical schematics, and preparing work sites.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Performing initial maintenance and troubleshooting during installation to prevent, diagnose, and repair malfunctions.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to environmental regulations, safety codes, and company procedures regarding refrigerant handling.
  • Documentation & Service: Recording daily activities, maintenance, and installations, while providing excellent customer service.
  • Logistics: Maintaining vehicles, ordering parts, and managing on-site equipment inventory.

Requirements:

What Do We Want To See?

  • EPA 608 (Universal certification preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial refrigeration (VRF system experience is a plus).
  • Expertise in electrical wiring and temperature controls.
  • Valid driver’s license.
