Job description

Electrical Technician II - New Albany, OH
About the Role
Join a leading operations & maintenance team as an Electrical Technician II in New Albany, OH. This temp-to-hire position offers multiple shift options and the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated data center and industrial environment. You will play a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing facility electrical systems, supporting major infrastructure, and ensuring safety and compliance at all times.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, equipment, and control circuits (24V-480V AC)
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with generators, UPS systems, PLCs, VFDs, and related instrumentation
- Support electrical expansion projects and ensure system reliability for critical infrastructure
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, ladder logic, and sequence of operations
- Adhere to Federal, State, and Local electrical codes; follow NFPA70e and strict safety protocols
- Conduct inspections, operate testing instruments, and provide energy efficiency solutions
- Maintain documentation and respond promptly to work orders, ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams and assist other technicians as needed
- Flexibly adapt to varying schedules and business demands, including overtime and shifts
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-4 years of experience as an electrician in data centers, industrial, hospital, or manufacturing environments
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, and control circuits up to 480V AC
- Comfortable working near voltages up to 13.8kV
- Ability to work at heights (up to 30 feet) using aerial or scissor lifts
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Familiarity with CMMS, Microsoft Office Suite, and use of diagnostic hardware/tools
- Must pass pre-employment background and substance abuse tests
- Ability to obtain security access badge and, if required, a valid driver's license
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SCADA systems, system administration, and alarm investigation
- Knowledge of measurement tools (micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, calibers)
- Previous work with chemicals, precision equipment, and highly regulated materials
- Demonstrated flexibility in work hours, including holidays and weekends
