Job description

Network Engineer (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite)

Travel: Monthly out-of-state travel required

Compensation: Converts to full-time salary of $100K–$110K

Overview

We are seeking a Network Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise environment focused on modernizing and maintaining multi-site network infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on engineering work, enjoys solving complex network challenges, and can support both project-based initiatives and day-to-day operations.

You’ll play a key role in deploying, optimizing, and supporting network solutions across multiple locations, including participating in technology refresh initiatives and infrastructure improvements.

What You’ll Be Solving
  • Migrating and optimizing enterprise network environments across multiple sites
  • Supporting network reliability and performance across complex LAN/WAN environments
  • Driving technology refresh efforts and ensuring successful site deployments
  • Enhancing network visibility, security, and overall infrastructure stability
  • Troubleshooting critical issues and implementing long-term solutions

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, deploy, and support network infrastructure across enterprise environments
  • Execute network implementations and technology refresh projects across multiple sites
  • Monitor and maintain network performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents across distributed environments
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to deliver network solutions on time
  • Document configurations, processes, and deployment steps
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering within enterprise environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with routing, switching, and network troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to support and scale networks across multiple sites
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively on high-impact initiatives
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams
Work Environment & Expectations
  • Primarily onsite in the Columbus area with flexibility depending on project work
  • Monthly out-of-state travel required to support site initiatives and deployments
  • Fast-paced environment supporting both project work and operational needs
  • Team values accountability, adaptability, and strong communication
