Senior Superintendent

Senior Superintendent
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead field operations for multi-family and commercial projects. The Senior Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing ground-up and renovation projectsparticularly apartments, condos, and wood-frame constructionfrom mobilization through closeout. This role requires strong leadership, coordination with project stakeholders, and a focus on safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day field operations for multiple projects, including ground-up multi-family, apartment, condo, and commercial builds.
  • Oversee scheduling, sequencing, and on-site coordination of subcontractors, vendors, and trades to maintain progress and meet milestones.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with project plans, specifications, codes, and building regulations for wood-frame and other construction types.
  • Drive site safety and implement mandatory safety programs, conduct toolbox talks, and enforce safe work practices.
  • Perform quality control inspections, identify deficiencies, and work with project teams to implement corrective actions and ensure punchlist completion.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and owners to communicate status, resolve issues, and coordinate change orders.
  • Manage site logistics, material deliveries, storage, and equipment to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Mentor and supervise assistant superintendents and field personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, and teamwork.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, RFIs, submittals tracking, progress photos, and as-built documentation.
  • Participate in startup, commissioning, and turnover activities, ensuring systems function and client expectations are met.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 812 years of hands-on construction experience with progressive responsibility; proven background as a Superintendent on multi-family and ground-up projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with apartments, condos, wood-frame construction, and commercial building types.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, inspections, and quality standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills; ability to coordinate multiple trades and work collaboratively with project teams and clients.
  • Proven track record of managing schedule and budget performance, solving field issues, and delivering projects on time.
  • Proficient with construction documentation and field reporting (daily logs, RFIs, submittals); familiarity with project management and scheduling software is preferred.
  • OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification preferred; CPR/First Aid a plus.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to multiple sites; ability to work extended hours when required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to mentor junior field staff.
