Job description

Summary of Excavator Operator at Layton Services:
Accountable for operating various types of heavy machinery to install water, sewer, and storm utilities. Operations where you will be digging trenches to the proper grade and digging in single and double-stacked boxes. You'll work closely with site supervisors and working crew members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of job site safety practices.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • 2+ years of excavating to install mainline utilities
  • Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, trenching, and material handling techniques
  • Ability to read and follow project plans, site maps, and supervisor directions
  • Understanding of OSHA workplace safety regulations and best practices
  • OSHA 10-Hour; OSHA Trenching and Excavating (can be obtained once hired)
