Specimen Collection Support Lead

About the Role

Aegis Sciences Corporation is seeking a Specimen Collection Support Lead to oversee and support a team of Specimen Collectors across an assigned territory. This role combines hands-on collection, leadership, training, and client support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both operational execution and team development. You'll play a key role in ensuring high-quality, compliant specimen collection services, while supporting clinic partners and driving team performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage assigned Specimen Collectors, providing coaching, guidance, and support
  • Serve as a liaison between field teams, leadership, and clients to ensure alignment and service excellence
  • Travel to clinics within your territory to support coverage, training, and client needs as needed
  • Onboard and train new Specimen Collectors and support ongoing skill development
  • Ensure all collection activities meet SOPs, compliance standards, and quality expectations
  • Support implementation and use of Electronic Lab Requisitions (FLUID/ELR)
  • Monitor team performance, identify training gaps, and address compliance concerns
  • Assist with new client setup, site coverage planning, and operational coordination
  • Maintain accurate records for specimen collection, shipping, and reporting
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve field issues and improve processes
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1+ year of Aegis Specimen Collection or Field Services experience OR 2+ years of external collection experience
  • Leadership experience (training, mentoring, coordinating, or leading projects)
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Comfortable interacting with clients, patients, and cross-functional teams
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurability requirements
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory
Work Environment
  • Travel required as need to support clinic locations across a territory
  • Remote work from home when not traveling
  • Work performed in clinic and healthcare environments, including handling biological specimens
