The primary focus of this position is shop-based physical labor, including the assembly and repair of truck-mounted attenuators, inventory management, shipping and receiving, material handling, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Although a CDL Class A is required or must be obtained, this is not primarily a driving position. The majority of the employee's time will be spent performing physical, hands-on work in the shop. This position requires a safety-focused, dependable individual who is comfortable using basic hand and power tools, operating material-handling equipment, and supporting a variety of shop and warehouse activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform assembly of new truck-mounted attenuators and related equipment in the shop.
  • Inspect and assist with the repair, maintenance, and replacement of components on attenuators.
  • Safely use basic hand and power tools to complete assembly, repair, and general shop tasks.
  • Receive, inspect, load, unload, and organize incoming and outgoing materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against purchase orders, bills of lading, invoices, and other documentation.
  • Identify and document damaged, missing, or incorrect materials received.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for shipment, delivery, pickup, or use by field operations.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Organize and maintain inventory, equipment, tools, warehouse shelving, and shop areas.
  • Safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment.
  • Assist with loading and unloading company and vendor trucks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and warehouse environment.
  • Operate company vehicles requiring a CDL Class A as business needs require.
  • Operate or assist with crane-related activities when properly trained and certified.
  • Follow all company safety policies, DOT requirements, and established shop procedures.
  • Assist other departments and operational teams as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE amp; SKILLS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • General knowledge and experience using basic hand tools.
  • Ability to safely operate common power tools used in a shop environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn the assembly and repair of traffic-control equipment and attenuators.
  • Previous shop, warehouse, shipping/receiving, mechanical, construction, or similar hands-on experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately count and maintain inventory.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory, shipping, and receiving activities.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
LICENSES amp; CERTIFICATIONS
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • CDL Class A required or willingness and ability to attend company-approved training to obtain a CDL Class A.
  • Forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification.
  • ABC Crane Certification required or willingness and ability to attend training to obtain the required crane certification.
  • Must be able to meet applicable DOT requirements, including successful completion of required MVR review, DOT physical, drug testing, and road testing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is a physically active, shop-based position. The employee must be able to:
  • Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, reach, crouch, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other shop equipment.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors as operational needs require.
  • Perform physical labor for the majority of the workday.
