Job description

Position Type: Seasonal, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 11:00 PM - 6:00 AM (35 hours/week)

Position Summary

The Seasonal Security Officer is responsible for helping maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, facilities, and company assets during the overnight shift. This position monitors security systems, responds to incidents and emergencies, conducts routine patrols, and assists with enforcing company policies and procedures. The Security Officer partners with Human Resources, Legal, and local emergency services to protect company property while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a safe workplace.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor CCTV cameras, access control systems, and dispatch systems for security concerns.
  • Monitor employee, visitor, and vehicle traffic entering and exiting the facility.
  • Conduct routine patrols of parking lots, building exteriors, warehouses, and company property.
  • Enforce company security, access control, and parking policies.
  • Respond promptly to security-related calls and requests for assistance.
  • Investigate incidents involving company employees, property, or assets and gather information from appropriate sources.
  • Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain security documentation using company computer systems.
  • Respond to burglary alarms, fire alarms, and other emergency situations while communicating with emergency responders.
  • Provide First Aid and CPR during medical emergencies and assist emergency medical personnel when necessary.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Legal to help enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Help safeguard company assets through proactive observation, monitoring, and response.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to two years of security, public safety, law enforcement, military, or related experience preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong reading comprehension and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of security procedures, surveillance systems, and access control practices.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and remain calm in emergency situations.
  • Strong observation, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with employees, visitors, contractors, and emergency personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
  • Basic mathematical and computer skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for the duration of the shift.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels.
Additional Requirements
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Ability to receive company-required vaccinations, including Hepatitis B.
  • Must maintain reliable attendance and adhere to all company safety and security policies.
  • Ability to successfully complete any required background screening.
