Job description

Weโ€™re seeking a Controls System Engineer III to join our Instrumentation & Controls team and work in our Dublin, Ohio office. In this role, youโ€™ll work on automation systems that directly support communities by helping keep water and wastewater systems running reliably. From troubleshooting systems in the field to modernizing SCADA environments, youโ€™ll play a key role in delivering solutions to our clients and communities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Controls System Engineer III,youโ€™llbe a key contributor on SCADA and controls projects from concept through commissioning:

  • Lead the design, programming,and configure PLC and HMI systems
  • Develop andSupport SCADA system design, implementation, and upgrades
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems in the field
  • Develop control panel designs and schematics
  • Leadperforming system testing, validation, and startup / commissioning activities
  • Deliver reliable, high-quality systems to clients

What we are looking for

  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering(Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) from an accredited college or universityispreferred butnotrequiredwitha longtenure ofon-the-jobexperience.
  • 10+ years of experience in controls, automation, or SCADA systems, with increasing responsibilityoncomplex projects
  • Strong experience with PLC programming and configuration (e.g., Allen Bradley RSLogix/Studio)
  • Experience developing and configuring HMI and SCADA systems, including platforms such as Ignition, VTSCADA, GEiFix, or AVEVA Wonderware
  • Proficiencyin control panel design, including electrical schematics, IO layouts, and panel configurations (AutoCAD experience preferred)
  • Ability to interpret and develop control narratives and sequences of operations
  • Experience performing system testing, validation (FAT/SAT), and startup/commissioning activities independently
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with instrumentation and field control systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work within project budgets and schedules, and deliver high-quality results
