Ohio Department of Public Safety - Visual Communications
Report In Location - 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223
Work Day and Hours - Work Days and Hours will vary between Monday - Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM depending on student's schedule

This is an ongoing internship located in Columbus, OH.  The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).

The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:
   Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour
   Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour

What You'll Do as a College Intern:
   Electronically designs brochures, manuals, posters, flyers use Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, forms and publications based on rough drafts.
   Create custom layouts for wall artwork requests based on wall size specifications.
   Edit final material for accuracy and make revisions as necessary.
   Document project progress using Smartsheet.
   Assist with framing, printing, and laminating of small in-house requests.
   Assist in preparing production-ready files, including packaging InDesign files and exporting assets in proper formats (PDF, PNG, EPS).
   Help organize and maintain the department's digital asset library (logos, photos, templates) to ensure consistent usage across projects.
   Preform basic photo retouching and color correction for print and digital materials.
   Update existing design templates with new content or branding or leadership elements.
   Works on team projects, as well as independent projects.

   Graphic Design

   Electronic Design
   Commercial Art
   Marketing

To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, an applicant must:
   Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.
   Be in good standing with the college/university.
   Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
   Be enrolled in at least one course.
   Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.
