Job description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join and grow with our mental health practice. This position offers the flexibility and autonomy of private practice while providing the clinical support and infrastructure needed to build a successful caseload from home.

As an LPC, you will provide 100% telehealth psychotherapy services to clients navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, behavioral concerns, and co-occurring disorders. Responsibilities include conducting mental health assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, maintaining timely clinical documentation, and providing evidence-based, client-centered interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine client needs.
  • Provide individual, couples, and child/youth therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage acute mental health emergencies with professionalism and compassion.
  • Develop tailored treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards, ensuring clear goals for recovery and progress tracking.
  • Utilize EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation, progress notes, treatment planning, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Engage in case management activities including patient care coordination, social work collaboration, and community resource linkage.
  • Facilitate specialized counseling services such as grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, autism spectrum disorder support, gender issues counseling, and behavior management for individuals with disabilities.
  • Deliver telehealth therapy sessions to expand access to mental health services while maintaining high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain ongoing professional development by staying current with clinical ethical guidelines, ICD coding updates, medical terminology advancements, and best practices in behavioral health.

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent credential required.
  • Proven experience working with children, adolescents, and/or adults in clinical or outpatient settings preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and trauma-focused approaches.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with crisis management protocols and crisis intervention techniques in inpatient or outpatient environments.
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation standards adhering to HIPAA regulations; experience with EMR/EHR systems essential.
  • Excellent communication skills for client engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while demonstrating empathy and cultural competence.
  • Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation is preferred.
  • Experience working within medical records systems and understanding medical terminology beneficial.
