Job Title: Pressure Vessel Welder – 2nd & Weekend Shift

Job Description

This role focuses on preparing parts, welding components into assemblies, and producing high‑quality pressure vessels and related products on a weekend shift schedule. You will follow detailed production orders, execute MIG and TIG welds according to established procedures and standards, and actively contribute ideas to improve efficiency and quality in a clean, organized weld and machine shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow production orders to prepare parts and weld components into complete assemblies.
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel in accordance with company welding procedures and documentation.
  • Execute welds that meet defined quality standards and comply with applicable codes and specifications.
  • Read and interpret welding procedure specifications (WPS), drawings, and blueprints to plan and complete work accurately.
  • Fabricate parts using cutting, punching, grinding, and related fabrication techniques.
  • Weld and fit pipe, pressure vessels, pressure tanks, and structural components as required.
  • Use tools such as tape measures, press brakes, and plasma cutting equipment to prepare and assemble materials.
  • Inspect welds and assemblies for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications, making adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain a methodical, organized, and precise approach to setup, welding, and fabrication tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve problems, address production challenges, and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Propose new methods, procedures, or equipment to improve efficiency, safety, and overall quality.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area and adhere to all safety guidelines and shop procedures.
  • Participate in initial first‑shift training for 2–4 weeks to learn processes, standards, and equipment before transitioning to the weekend shift.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 to 5 years of welding experience.
  • 2 to 5 years of MIG and TIG welding experience on carbon steel.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience reading and using blueprints.
  • 2 to 5 years of welding and fabrication experience, including cutting, punching, and grinding.
  • Experience welding pipe, pressure vessels, or pressure tanks.
  • Experience with fitting and assembly of welded components.
  • Ability to read and apply welding procedure specifications (WPS).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience with structural welding.
  • Strong aptitude for problem solving and teamwork.
  • Methodical, organized, and precise working style.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with certifications in welding in accordance with ASME standards.
  • Experience using a tape measure accurately for layout and fit‑up.
  • Experience operating a press brake for forming operations.
  • Experience with plasma cutting equipment.
  • Background working in a weld shop or machine shop environment.
  • Interest in contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment

This position is based in a clean, comfortable, and well‑organized weld and machine shop environment. The role follows a weekend shift schedule of Friday through Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., totaling 36 hours per week. New hires complete 2 to 4 weeks of training on a first‑shift schedule before transitioning to the weekend shift, ensuring thorough onboarding to equipment, processes, and quality standards. You will work with MIG and TIG welding equipment, carbon steel materials, and tools such as press brakes, plasma cutters, cutting and grinding tools, and standard measuring devices. The shop emphasizes orderliness, safety, and a serene, team‑oriented atmosphere that supports focused, high‑quality work.

This is a Permanent position based out of Delaware, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $70720.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
