Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated CAE Durability Engineer to support strength and durability simulations for body and closure systems. This role will focus on full vehicle and subsystem-level analysis, working closely with design, testing, and offshore teams to ensure performance targets are achieved.

This is a project-based position requiring a hands-on engineer who can quickly contribute to ongoing programs and deliver high-quality CAE results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day strength and durability simulations for body and closure components
  • Develop high-quality finite element (FE) models and meshes for body and chassis subsystems
  • Execute non-linear FE analysis using Abaqus for strength and fatigue evaluation
  • Conduct fatigue life analysis (e.g., nCode or equivalent tools)
  • Analyze simulation results and identify failure modes and performance gaps
  • Collaborate with design and test teams to develop and implement countermeasures
  • Coordinate with offshore teams to support project execution
  • Prepare and deliver clear technical reports and presentations of findings
  • Support test validation activities and correlate CAE results with physical testing
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of CAE methodologies and processes

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of CAE experience (flexible to ~3+ years with strong tool expertise)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Strong hands-on experience with ANSA (pre-processing)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Abaqus (solver)
  • Experience in vehicle durability, strength analysis, and FE modeling
  • Ability to work independently and hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with META and HyperWorks
  • Background in automotive industry or Tier 1 suppliers
  • Experience with sheet metal, body-in-white, or closure systems
  • Familiarity with fatigue post-processing tools (e.g., nCode)
