Job description

Overview

The Senior Industrial Engineer supports plant manufacturing by providing line speed calculations, reporting, material loss rates, throughput evaluation, headcount justification, capacity analysis, and downtime evaluation. Within the Operational Excellence department, the engineer supports the plant with Shingo progress and certification, driving principle‑based behaviors focused on value creation, process focus, and data‑driven decision making.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report metrics for all plant production areas.
  • Develop and maintain annual plant OEE, distress, and scrap data.
  • Actively support the site Operational Excellence effort, including MOS.
  • Observe, analyze, and support operations to recommend business process improvements.
  • Coach and mentor Green Belt teams on Lean Six Sigma tools.
  • Facilitate the generation of project charters and Kaizen events with internal and external customers.
  • Solve problems using tools such as PDCA, A3 problem solving, and Why‑Why.
  • Provide Capital and CIP project support for projects that affect material loss, labor changes, or throughput.
  • Manage the employee idea program.
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Perform other plant support as assigned.
  • Ensure accuracy of plant performance metrics and labor/material standards.
  • Drive change management for key site initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence in plant operations; 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; strong communication, leadership, problem‑solving, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of operational analytics applications, including SEEQ; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt; familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Power BI; high technical expertise with infant formula or fast‑moving commercial goods manufacturing processes.
