POSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Pastor provides the spiritual leadership of The Church Next Door ("TCND" or the "Church"), performing the services and duties naturally pertaining to that leadership in keeping with Scripture. The Senior Pastor serves as an ex-officio, voting member of the Board of Trustees (President of the Church) and of all Commissions of the Church. This role is deeply relational, administratively strong, and Holy Spirit led.RESPONSIBLITIESSpiritual Leadership & Pastoral CareListening to God and being the chief intercessor of the Church.Communicating clear and concise Biblical truths in speaking God's Word through preaching and teaching.Vision, Culture & Strategic LeadershipShaping the culture of the Church to assure its role as a New Testament church in a modern age.Casting a clear vision by understanding and affirming the stated Mission of the Church and then establishing the values and goals of the Church.Providing leadership to the Church and developing leaders.Staff & Organizational OversightAssuring the administration of the Church office, preaching, teaching, and evangelizing.Assuring the hiring, supervision, oversight, and direction of the Church staff.Negotiating and recommending adjustments to staff compensation.Assuring the operation and administration of the various Commissions of the Church.Community EngagementConnecting with the community that the Church serves.Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Required:Commitment to lead in accordance with the Church's Statement of Faith, the Apostles' Creed, Staff Covenant, and must affirm the Church's Mission: "Moving People Closer to God."Ordained minister.*Master of Divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary.5+ years of pastoral ministry experience.Demonstrated ability to perform pastoral duties in keeping with Scripture.*Master of Divinity degree requirement may be waived with 5+ years pastoral experience and/or formal pastoral training such as pastoral residency.Preferred:Favorable consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate the following:10+ years of vocational ministry experience with preaching, pastoral care, and leadership development.Teaching and preaching experience to multi-ethnic, multi-generational congregations.International/global missions experience.A track record of building or strengthening assimilation and discipleship pathways, with demonstrated measurable growth in participation.Demonstrated leadership development capability: recruiting, training, and deploying volunteer and staff leaders.Experience overseeing staff and volunteer teams, including budget and ministry operations.Experience with outreach, relationship development, and community partnership building in central Ohio.Vision casting and strategic planning experience, with attention to organizational health and sustainable ministry systems.Strong written, oral, and relational communication skills, with the emotional maturity to provide pastoral counseling and crisis support.SCHEDULE AND SERVICESRegular church office hours: 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Thursday. Weekend church services: Saturday 5:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am.
