Job description

PRN Preop/PACU RN Opportunity

Are you an RN looking for a flexible PRN opportunity where your skills, curiosity, and initiative truly shine? At Central Ohio Urology Surgery Center, we're not just any ASC; we're nationally recognized for excellence and proud to lead the way in urologic surgical care.

PRN Position Requirements

PRN Commitment: This is a PRN/as-needed role, not a full-time position. All PRNs are required to pick up at least one offered shift within a 90-day period.

Shift Availability: Availability to pick up shifts as needed during our standard weekday operating hours, Monday-Friday, 6 am-5:30 pm. No nights or weekends.

Training Requirements: All newly hired PRNs are required to complete 6, 10 hour days of training within their first 30 days of PRN hire date.

What You'll Do

As a PRN Preop/PACU RN, you'll be a vital part of our perioperative care team, supporting patients before and after surgery based on surgery center volume, staffing needs, and your availability. Your role will require vigilance, critical thinking, communication, and a proactive approach because smooth recoveries start with confident, competent nursing.

  • Assess and educate patients preoperatively
  • Monitor and manage post-op recovery, pain, and vital signs
  • Administer medications and IVs safely
  • Identify and respond to complications with urgency
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication
  • Ensure patient readiness, safety, and satisfaction
  • Pick up PRN shifts as needed during standard weekday operating hours
  • Support team goals with a can-do mindset
  • Lean in, speak up, and step up every day you're here
What You Bring
  • Current Ohio RN license (required)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in ICU, ER, Preop, PACU, or Circulating
  • Availability to pick up PRN shifts as needed during our standard operating hours
  • Strong decision-making and communication skills
  • A proactive, humble, collaborative attitude - no task is beneath you
  • Ability to give and receive feedback with professionalism and grace
  • Ability to stay calm, clear-headed, and composed when it matters most
Final Thought

The COUSC Preop/PACU team doesn't just prep and recover patients; they elevate outcomes and each other. If you're a humble high-performer with hustle, heart, and PRN availability during our weekday operating hours, we'd love to hear from you.
