Job description

  • Do you like tracing a fault from a sensor through a gearbox to the root cause?
  • Can you switch from reading a hydraulic schematic to striking a clean weld bead?
  • Are you at your best when uptime, safety, and accuracy all matter at once?
What you’ll tackle
  • Perform daily post-operational inspections on graders, conveyor systems, washers, and dryers.
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs to keep equipment safe and efficient.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues quickly and correctly.
  • Drive root-cause analysis for downtime and implement mistake-proofing solutions.
  • Set up equipment with the proper packaging materials and correct date codes.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Weld and perform metal fabrication as needed.
  • Support building and facility maintenance.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and biosecurity policies; report any violations immediately.
What helps you succeed here
  • Strong mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills; solid metalworking background.
  • Proficiency in machine repair, machine tool work, pipefitting, and welding.
  • Knowledge of valves, pipe fittings, bearings, motors, gearboxes, and similar components.
  • Ability to read/interpret mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic prints and schematics.
  • Clear communication across all levels—both written and verbal—to build trust with leads and managers.
  • Competence with basic math operations.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Word and Excel and conducting job-related internet research; willingness to learn new systems.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and problem-solving with attention to detail.
  • Works independently and as part of a team with urgency and accountability.
Safety mindset
  • Understands and enforces: fall protection, lockout/tagout, fire protection systems, electrical safety, forklift/hoist operation, welding/cutting procedures, PPE, and employee “Right to Know.”
Physical requirements
  • Extensive climbing, walking, lifting, bending, standing, carrying, and squatting—performed safely.
